Syringe filter with PTFE membrane
When selecting the appropriate syringe filter, a number of criteria must be taken into account.
- Diameter: The PERFECT-FLOW syringe filters are available in two different diameters - 13 mm and 25 mm. These address the sample volumes.
- Pore size: Addresses the pore size of the HPLC columns (or UHPLC columns) and the associated separation performance. As standard, we offer products with pore sizes of 0.2 µm and 0.45 µm in this area
- Glass fiber pre-filter: For highly contaminated samples, we offer the integration of a glass fiber membrane.
Teflon (PTFE) as material
PTFE as a membrane is best suited for working with non-polar liquids or gases. Due to its hydrophobic property, syringe filters made of PTFE are not suitable for aqueous solutions. However, they show high resistance to solvents, acids and bases.
